When you encounter issues such as the inability to revert modifications made to your flight controller configuration, abnormal drone behavior, or loss/damage of flight controller configuration files, restoring factory settings using CLI commands in Betaflight can help resolve common flight controller issues.

Note: Restoring factory settings will reset all configurations to default, erasing any custom settings you have made. Make sure to backup your configuration files before proceeding.

Instructions:

1. Connect to Betaflight Configurator:

   • Connect your flight controller to your computer using a suitable USB cable.

   • Open Betaflight Configurator software.

2. Access CLI:

   • In the top menu of Betaflight Configurator, click on the “CLI” tab. This will open the Command Line Interface.

     

3. Retrieve CLI Commands:

   • Open the provided command text file containing the necessary CLI commands for restoring factory settings.
   • Copy the desired CLI commands from the file.

4. Paste and Execute CLI Commands:

   • Return to the Betaflight Configurator CLI command line.
   • Paste the copied CLI commands into the CLI command line.
   • Press Enter to execute the commands.
   • Wait for the flashing process to complete. Once completed, the flight controller will automatically restart.

5. Verify and Test:

   • Disconnect the flight controller from the computer and power it off.

   • Power on the flight controller and reconnect it to the computer.

   • Launch the Betaflight Configurator and verify that the configuration has successfully been restored to factory settings.

   • Perform Accelerometer Calibration and reconfigure flight modes and other flight controller settings as necessary.
