Installing Betaflight Configurator: Step-by-Step

Launch your preferred web browser and access the official release page for Betaflight Configurator on Github.

Choose the Betaflight Configurator release version that meets your needs. Unless there are specific requirements, it is recommended to install the latest stable version marked as “Latest”. In this case, we will select the most recent stable release, Betaflight Configurator 10.9.0.
Download the installation package for your computer’s operating system, be it the Windows version or the Mac version. Note that the file name for the Windows version should end with “_win64-installer.exe” or “_win64-portable.zip”. Similarly, the Mac version should have an installation file ending with “_macOS.dmg”.
- If you are using Linux or any other operating system, please refer to alternative installation guides, sure this won’t be a challenge for you.
If you are using Windows, navigate to the release page and click on “betaflight-configurator_10.9.0_win64-portable.zip” to initiate the download process. Once the download is finished, extract the compressed file to the directory where you wish to install it. This can be done by right-clicking on the file and selecting “Extract All….” using the built-in Windows File Explorer or by using a third-party compression software of your choice.
Inside the extracted folder, locate the betaflight-configurator.exe file and double-click on it to initiate the launch of the software. To enhance convenience, you can also right-click on the file and choose “Create Shortcut” to add a shortcut to your desktop. This will provide easy access to the software whenever needed.
For Mac users, download the “betaflight-configurator_10.9.0_macOS.dmg” file corresponding to the desired version from the releases page. Double-click the downloaded file to load the disk image in Finder. Then, simply drag the Betaflight Configurator icon into the Applications folder on the right-hand side of the window. After a brief moment, you will find the newly added Betaflight Configurator icon in your Launchpad, ready to be accessed.

Note: Please refrain from running the Betaflight Configurator program directly from the mounted disk image. Instead, drag and drop it into the Applications folder before launching it from the Launchpad.
If you encounter the “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified” prompt when running this version of Betaflight Configurator for the first time on your computer, please refer to the support documentation below. In the Privacy & Security settings, locate and click the “Open Anyway” button to confirm your intent to open or install the app.

After installing Betaflight, launch the software and connect your flight controller using a data cable. Your Betaflight software should automatically establish a connection with the flight controller. If the automatic connection does not occur, click on the Connect icon located in the top right corner of the interface.
